Sailing to Isla San Francisco

11-5-13

We decided to head north to Isla San Francisco today, as the wind was good and if we strategized well, could likely sail all the way there.  We decided we would show Paul Los Islotes, a sea lion rookery on the way.  We anchored out after being told we couldn’t use the mooring ball, but the current was crazy strong and unsafe to snorkel over.  So...we have to stop there on the way back.  It’s so fun to swim with the sea lions and the snorkeling is fantastic.

Here’s a sneak preview of Los Islotes:

Paul entertained us with a little harmonica playing.  I tried it. It was fun.  That little harmonica might go missing.  :)

And he gave us ideas for staying in shape.

It was a great day of sailing.  It did get a bit chilly on the way in, as it was after dark when we got in.  I am not a fan of anchoring at night, but the boys were determined to sail all the way into the anchorage.  We had to tack a lot in order to accomplish that.

I went down below and started dinner while they anchored.  I made a tasty Indian-inspired dinner with Talapia in a curry with onions, garlic, ginger, spinach, asparagus, and fresh tomatoes served over brown rice.

We had aprés dinner margaritas and a shot of tequila that tasted like Baileys.  YUM

Paul fell asleep on the seteé again.  :)

We are corrupting him.
